I am Madison Cowan and my goal is to encourage you in growing your creative strengths and weaknesses, finding new innovative ways for all abilities to make, and cultivate that community together. I believe we are life long learners and capable of great creative works! I do not believe practice makes perfection. Practice makes progress. And that progress is so much better than any kind of perfection.
My passion is working with individuals of all learning differences, disabilities and exceptionalities. Because we are all capable of making great things!
I continue to learn and grow in myself and creative practice - every day is sweeter than the next, no matter how difficult life can become. You have to allow this essential investment in yourself to create with your hands, mind, body, and soul.

The Plein Air Club is a collective of Bakersfield artists and art lovers, who gather monthly in a location specific to Kern County.
Creating together outside, exploring different mediums, and building community.
Membership is Free. Community is priceless.

January Painter's Workshop
The Painter's Workshop is designed for painters of all levels - art students, art professionals and beginners who wish to learn or refine their familiarization with essential tools and materials used in oil painting. Working from an under painting and building on layers for image making.
This workshop is limited to 5 seats. For ages 18+. -
January Dreamshop
Come join us at Three Door Studios for our January workshop. We will be exploring elements from Three Door Studios artists, Emily, Amanda and Madison.
Rotating through customized:• Printmaking on pouch fabric with precarved blocks to add visual flare.
• Mixed media mini art journals: experiment with ink sprays, collage, & stamping to create your journal (fits inside your sewn pouch!)
• Sewing to create a portable supply pouch for all your creative on the go needs!
All materials are provided. The Dreamshop is beginner friendly. No prior experience is necessary.Early Bird Tickets Available Now. For Ages 18+.

Come create in the studio through a private lesson. Customized for your current creative skill set.
For Youth ages 8+ and Adults.
Materials may include carving tools/knives, oil paints and spirits, graphic and drawing tools. Materials are provided by the studio and fees included in registration fee. -
March: The Painter's 2 Day Workshop
The Painter's Workshop is designed for painters of all levels - art students, art professionals and beginners who wish to learn or refine establishing steps to begin an oil painting. Participants will gain hands-on experience with "open air" painting and working from life.
This is a 2 day workshop, sending 2 1/2 hours both days working outside with oils.
This workshop is limited to 5 seats. For ages 18+
