Madison Cowan is a Bakersfield native, professional artist, educator, and owner of Madison Cowan Studio LLC.

After developing her creative practice for almost a decade, she launched her business Madison Cowan Studio LLC in early 2024. Working with individuals of all abilities, Cowan believes everyone is capable of creativity in their own right.

Madison Cowan is a professional artist trained in multiple disciplines. She currently works impressionistically and abstractly with oil painting, traditionally in printmaking, and photography. Her work explores the juxtaposition of urban and rural environments. Visually focusing on the landscape influences of her surroundings when traveling and in her hometown.

As an artist, her creative practices have led to many opportunities to connect with people seeking creative growth in their lives. Cowan’s passion is creating alongside individuals with cognitive and physical differences. Madison Cowan experiences life with Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and ADHD - abilities she deeply believes are the root to her own creative practice and lifelong learning. She believes “Our abilities and life experiences do not hinder our opportunities to grow but enable innovative opportunities for us to flourish and positivity influence our circumstances. And art takes all limitations out of the equation, providing equal opportunity to anyone who dare pursue it.” Creating specific curriculum for individuals with traumatic brain injuries, Down Syndrome, Autism, and other differences. It is truly my favorite way to connect and create.

“I have been blessed with various speaking opportunities for local and international art and educational groups on the importance of creative practices and strategies for engaging people with artistic values. I believe in the essentialism of art and its power to impact our culture and peoples’ lives. I believe we are all divinely created by God with purpose and the choice to pursue that purpose through free will.”
